NSW: Woman injured on bus near Newcastle

SYDNEY, Aug 4 AAP - A bus driver was forced to pull over near Newcastle early today
after a fight broke out between passengers, police said.

The driver stopped the bus at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Warners Bay
Road at Charlestown and alerted police to the incident at about 1am (AEST).

Officers arriving at the scene found a 22-year-old woman bleeding heavily from a facial injury.

She was taken by ambulance to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

Police questioned a woman at the scene and spoke with several witnesses.
